A truly unique and colourful set of scallop shell reprints. Directly based on rare b&w shell engravings from the 1600s (curated by a scholar who published the earliest guide to collecting shells during the 17th century). Each shell has a different beautiful pattern on its surface.
Hand framed in linen mounts and textured frames which have been specially crafted to display four colours on each side. Each frame has a slightly different formation of these colours - to create a sense of movement when hung together as a set or smaller variables.
Available as a full set of 6, or singles. Shells named 1 to 6 (please select a shell from the drop-down menu to see its corresponding photo).
All our reprint collections are limited in number and originate directly from antiques personally sourced by Petri Prints.
