Babar Ballooning

£160.00

A whimsical reprint depicting Babar and Celeste in a hot air balloon flying across a warm Mediterranean coastline. Directly based on an original print from 1930s that we acquired for our private collection. In this illustration, Babar looks through his binoculars while his yellow balloon flies him and Celeste over a charming rural scene including an olive grove, horse and cart and lady in a patterned headscarf.

This print is hand framed in a raspberry-red moulding with a warm putty-coloured mount and bottle green accent border. We wanted the framing to reflect the old age of the original print, and mirror the richness of the vintage colours within the illustrations. As a colour reference the main mount, is similar in tone to F&B's 'String' and accent border is close in colour to F&B's 'Beverly'.

This print would be an excellent way to add charm, warmth and depth to a wall.

All our reproduction collections are limited in number, glazed with Artglass and originate from antiques specially sourced by Petri Prints.
