Quimper Egg Cups

£200.00

A pair of egg cup reprints created from original 19th century sketches of antique Quimper pottery designs. In the centre of each egg cup is a Breton man and lady figure in traditional dress.

Quimper (pronounced "kem-pair"), is a small town in Brittany renowned since the 1600s for its hand-painted pottery reflecting Breton culture. Colourful scenes of everyday rural life, Breton figures in traditional clothing and intricate patterns were typically painted on items of tableware such as plates, egg cups, napkin rings and salt cellars.

Hand-framed in teal mouldings with a linen mount and toffee brown accent border, this pair of prints would be perfect for anyone with an appreciation for antique pottery, french food, decorative painting or folk art.

All our reproduction collections are limited in number and originate from antiques specially sourced by Petri Prints.
