A set of reprints based on a collection of original 19th century roman coin lithographs.
Centuries ago, people would only have seen the face of their leader on a coin. Roman coins were therefore significant works of art in their own right, providing images of Roman emperors who sometimes chose their portrait style based on what type of message they wanted the public to draw from their image.
This set is available as a full set of 6, or singles, with each coin being hand-framed in blue wood stain mouldings and mounted in sandstone oatmeal linen accent mounts. This collection would be perfect for anyone with an appreciation for history, portraiture, decorative illustration or Roman art.
All our reproduction collections are limited in number and originate from antiques specially sourced by Petri Prints.
