An antique original copper plate engraving depicting Wiltshire’s Wilton House. Known for being home to the Earls of Pembroke for over 400 years (and used as the interiors setting for Mr Darcey’s home in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice film). To the left of the view stands the facade of Wilton house. The lawn is decorated with trees and figures in traditional costume - while near the river's edge to the right, sits the Palladian Bridge designed in the 1700s.

This print is part of a wider 18th century traveller's account of life at a time of rapid expansion and exploration around the world. Parts of the UK today used to be much more rural and these beautiful images provide snapshots of life over 200 years ago.

The engraving has been framed in a beautiful solid tonal style to add balance to the intricate illustrations. The frame and mount are close in colour to Farrow and Ball's 'Blue Green'. The frame has natural wood edges which have been hand stained a light oak colour.

All frames are the same size as each other on the wall, so prints could be hung as pairs or wider sets.
