A striking bantam chicken that's linear in style. Directly based on an original naïve ink sketch from the 1800s (sourced for our private archive). Naïve art is often characterised by its simple handling and has gained popularity with collectors since the 20th century for its ability to capture a charming sense of nostalgia.
Our reprint is hand framed in a painterly, soft mustard-yellow bobbin moulding, along with a pale sage accent mount. The off white mount has a slightly speckled surface which adds interest and texture.
This piece would be beautiful in a kitchen but also wonderful in other living spaces (such as sitting rooms or bedrooms).
All our reprint collections are limited in number and originate directly from antiques personally sourced by Petri Prints.
