The Colourful Olive Shells

£665.00

A wonderfully fun shell collection that's full of colour and pattern, based on a series of 18th century olive shells. Hand framed in linen mounts with accent borders in pastel pink, mid green, dusky blue and pale mustard - anchored with earthy toned aubergine frames. The shells these reprints are based on were originally drawn by an Italian Physician and published in Florence nearly 300 years ago.

Olive shells with their oval shape and shiny exterior have long been popular with shell collectors historically. They provide an example of how complex, beautiful patterns can arise in nature and they exhibit a wide variety of colours.

This series is available as a full set of 8, a curated set of 6, a curated set of 4 and singles.

All our reprint collections are limited in number and originate directly from antiques personally sourced by Petri Prints.
