A vibrant collection directly based on antique Indian gouache paintings depicting a group of musicians (with their instruments) in traditional attire. Miniature paintings like these were of great importance during the 19th century, documenting diverse traditions and occupations of local regions.
In keeping with the antiques, these prints show delicate signs of age, including fine cracks, adding to the character to framed art. There is also a striking colour palate of cobalt blue, emerald green and deep crimson, set against a dusty landscape.
This set is hand framed in a playful variety of mount colours (sage green, pale mustard, earthy orange and dusky blue) and gold leaf mouldings.
