A beautiful series of prints focusing on birds found by the sea and other water habitats (such as marches, ponds, lakes and rivers). The birds include a Lapwing, Golden Plover, Oyster Catcher, Scooping Avocet, Little Grebe and Water Rail.
Our reprints are directly based on lithographs we sourced from the early 1800s by a notable French naturalist whose important work featured many engravings of animals and birds in their natural habitats.
Each bird has been uniquely adorned with a decorative border taken from what was originally an 19th century antique pattern.
Hand framed in a series of navy and off white mounts - with contrasting pale blue and old-rose accent borders. Finished with a burl-wood style, walnut coloured moulding.
