A charming artwork directly based on a one-off, 1800s antique pen and ink watercolour, displaying an ostrich running across a dusty landscape and blue skies. Muted washes in the original painting and quick, sweeping paint-strokes creates a sense of spontaneity and movement helping us imagine the ostrich running at great speed.
The decorative old pink floral border surrounding the Ostrich originates from a pattern originally hand-block printed by Rosie. The pattern was then incorporated as part of the reprint artwork, making sure the preserve the detail of the handcrafted motif, enhancing the overall artwork's charm with the texture and irregularities that come with block printing.
Hand framed with a warm linen mount and a beautiful rustic oak stained pine wood moulding to sit well in many interior spaces.
