A charming castle print with Tuscan history. Directly based on a miniature hand painted antique lithograph in our collection from the mid 1800s depicting a Florentine coat of arms, with a castle and red fleur-de-lys emblem in the corner.
Our framing is inspired by decorative Florentine end papers - and oval mount openings often found on 18th and 19th century miniature pictures. We have embellished the coat of arms with a toffee brown fleur-de-lys patterned border - which was first block printed by hand before being added to the reprint artwork.
Hand framed in an oval shaped double mount with a textured off white main mount and old-rose accent border. Surrounded by a textured forest green moulding in a rectangular shape to be hung horizontally. This would be incredibly sweet nestled on a shelf, by a bedside, as part of a gallery wall or above an accent chair.
All our reprint collections are limited in number and originate directly from antiques personally sourced by Petri Prints.
