The Striped Soldier

A colourful print depicting a soldier in their guard's uniform. Directly based on a charming original watercolour from the 1800s brought into our personal archive. Wearing pale blue trousers and hat, the guard is viewed both face-on and behind - allowing us to appreciate his full traditional attire. 

For the addition of some pattern, the reprint artwork has been embellished with a decorative striped border (based on a master design, block printed first by hand). 

Hand framed in bevelled sage green moulding with a terracotta mount - anchored with a dappled off-white accent mount. 

All our reprint collections are limited in number and originate directly from antiques personally sourced by Petri Prints.
