A beautiful collection of Swedish botanical reprints, directly based on an antique series of engravings from the turn of the 1800s (brought into our private archive).
Each print is hand framed in an atmospheric colour-block style, pairing a cyan mount with a closely matched frame. This style of framing with intricate traditional illustrations and can be incredibly impactful on the wall. Each mount also carries a delicate light-taupe accent mount border, adding softness to the collection.
The original publication was considered to be the first Swedish colour-plate collection on flowers, with over 700 illustrations documented by a notable Swedish naturalist born in the 1700s. Our set contains a variety of flowers, grasses and succulents, all with their own interesting forms, compositions and colours - creating a captivating set when hung as a whole.
