Babar in Bed (Pillow Frill Mount)

£138.00

A nostalgic scene depicting Babar having breakfast in bed. Directly based on a lithograph from the 1930s we personally sourced for our private archive. The illustration shows Babar and Celeste tucked up in traditional nightwear, dipping croissants into cups of tea.

We wanted the elephants to look like they were lying on a frilly pillow and have designed a decorative mount with a playful, double-frill, ink border. This is directly based on hand drawn frills - mimicking the ruffled edges of a traditional pillowcase. A second mount is layered beneath, creating an accent border, anchored by a soft pink-taupe painted wood frame.
