A 1700s antique original copper plate engraving, depicting Yorkshire’s English country house, Castle Howard. Located in the north of Yorkshire, this beautiful home in a Baroque and Palladian-style began its build in the 1600s - and was used as a location setting for the filming of Brideshead Revisited and Bridgerton. 

This print is part of a wider 18th century traveller's account of life at a time of rapid expansion and exploration around the world. Parts of the UK today used to be much more rural and these beautiful images provide snapshots of life over 200 years ago.

Each engraving has been framed in a beautiful solid tonal style to add balance to the intricate illustrations. The frame and mount colour are close to to Farrow and Ball's 'Blue Green'. The frame has natural wood edges which have been hand stained a light oak colour. 

All frames are the same size as each other on the wall, so prints could be hung as pairs or wider sets.
