A whimsical collection of birds on tree branches. A set that celebrates nature with its asymmetrical forms, green leaves and colourful birds. Inspired by the sweeping foliage and bright colours often seen in antique chinoiserie patterns.
These bird reprints are directly based on 18th century engravings by a prominent French ornithological artist of the 1700s. It's thought that the delicate yellow borders led to the development of French matting (a technique using watercolour wash panels and ink lines around the perimeter mounted prints).
Available as a full set of 6 and a curated set of 4 and singles. We can via special request also frame up a set of 8, so please get in touch if this would be of interest.
All our reprint collections are limited in number and originate directly from antiques personally sourced by Petri Prints.
