The Conchology Collection
If you'd like to swap any mount colours within the set, please just pop over an e-mail after ordering to Rosie and Ant at hello@petriprints.com and we'd be happy to do this for you.
A striking series of shell prints, directly based on antique engravings from a notable 1800s history publication, with a mixture of multiple agate or cone shells across each page.
Conchology (the study of seashells), has played an important part of natural history studies across the last few centuries, with shell popularity increasing during the Victorian era where shells adorned grottos, furniture and art.
Hand framed in either: olive green, dusky rose (an earthy terracotta rose) or off white mounts - all with linen accent borders to create layered depth and texture. Set in beautiful rope-style mouldings with an aged steel finish, chosen for its visual connection to maritime materials.
