A striking set of panoramic views depicting historic London squares, directly based on rare 18th-century antiques in our private archive.
Centuries ago, these squares were central to London life, offering spaces to promenade, meet, and observe the city while signalling status. Today they remain significant: from Bloomsbury’s literary heritage and Leicester Square’s theatrical hub, to Grosvenor and St James’s Squares’ aristocratic ties, Devonshire Square’s commercial legacy in the East End's City of London, and Soho Square’s artistic and literary associations (featured in Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities).
Some scenes in this set extend long views beyond the squares to Hampstead and Highgate, reminding us that 18th-century London was still closely connected to a rural landscape forming a visible edge to the city.
