A timeless collection of animals, for adults and children alike. Including a lion, seal, toucan, elephant, rhino, chameleon, peacock and cassowary (often described as a 'living dinosaur'). Directly based on a rare series of 1700s antique engravings we sourced at auction a few years ago. The animals are depicted with majestic side-profile poses and set against theatrical backdrops giving them an almost fable-like character and mythical quality.
The Framing
Each print is surrounded by a decorative checkered border (based on an 1800s antique pattern) and hand framed in a playful series of mount colours. Framed in textured ivory mouldings.
