The Signs of the Zodiac

£115.00

If you'd like to swap your print's mount colour between antique white or pale blue, please just pop over an e-mail to Rosie and Ant after ordering: hello@petriprints.com

A beautiful series directly based on a 1700s copperplate engravings depicting the twelves signs of the zodiac. Each sign is positioned in a circular medallion (possibly borrowed from the iconography of ancient coins) and the figures are loosely sketched with pleasing naïve proportions -  retaining a mythical, symbolic quality often associated with celestial prints.

The history of the zodiac goes back thousands of years ago to where the Babylonians first divided the heavens in to twelve sections. After Greek and Roman refinement, the Zodiac remains a topic of great importance and fascination for humans today.

These timeless prints can be hung as singles or sets to commemorate a birthday, Christmas, anniversary, person or family. They'd would work well in a nursery, living room, bedroom, hallway or powder room alike.

Hand framed in either an antique white, or pale blue mount - with a textured linen accent border and set in a classic, delicate teak frame. If you'd like to swap between mount colours (e.g. off white to pale blue), simply pop over an e-mail after ordering.
